On the 27th of July 2024, Nehru International School hosted Investiture Ceremony at Visveswaraya Hall, NIT. The event was marked by grandeur and solemnity, beginning with the arrival of the Chief Guest, who was ceremoniously escorted by the school band. Principal Mr. K.S. Siva Prakash led the proceedings, initiating the ceremony with a poignant moment of silence in honour of Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam on his death anniversary. This event was followed by a school prayer, setting a reverent tone for the proceedings. The lighting of the ceremonial lamp, performed by the Chief Guests and Principal, symbolized the illumination of knowledge and leadership, an enchanting dance performance was by the students, which added a touch of vibrancy and grace to the occasion. Principal Mr. Siva Prakash addressed the gathering with an inspiring welcome, articulating the essence of leadership with the quote, "A Leader is one who knows the way, goes the way, and shows the way." His address set a tone of reverence and aspiration for the event. The ceremony then moved to the conferral of honours. Nagarajan honoured the Chief Guest, K. Sajith Kumar. Headmistress presented accolades to Correspondent Dr. Chaitanya Krishna Kumar. Principal Mr. Siva Prakash recognized Dr. H.N. Nagaraja for his contributions. The highlight of the ceremony was the recognition of newly elected student leaders. The Head Boy received his accolade from Chief Guest K. Sajith Kumar, Head Girl was honoured by Correspondent. Additionally, Vice Captains, Sports Captains, House Captains, and House Vice Captains from the four houses—Aqua, Terra, Ventus, and Ignis—were awarded sashes and badges by the dignitaries. The House Mistresses of all four houses were also acknowledged for their dedication and service. The Head Boy made a resolute pledge to advance the school’s motto of nurturing true citizens through excellence in both academics and sports. Dr. H.N. Nagara delivered a profound Special Address, lauding the students for their impeccable organization of the event. He recounted an inspiring tale about Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam’s humanitarian efforts, particularly his work with polio-affected children, urging the newly elected leaders to embody his spirit of service. He underscored the significance of cultivating a robust identity and a positive outlook. Chief Guest K. Sajith Kumar, Deputy Commandant, shared a reflective address, reminiscing about his own school days and drawing parallels with historic milestones like the moon landing. His words were intended to inspire students to pursue their goals with unyielding determination and resolve. Correspondent Dr. Chaitanya Krishna Kumar delivered an insightful message on the importance of thoughtful decision-making and the value of meaningful exchanges. The ceremony concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks from the Headmistress, and was capped by the National Anthem, marking a fitting end to a memorable and successful event. The Investiture Ceremony was a testament to the school’s commitment to excellence in leadership and community spirit, leaving an indelible mark on all who attended.
